<description>I am remodeling small ranch style home with a small galley kitchen that is open to a den dining room combination. Kitchen was extremely dark because of the old dark wood cabinets and the location in the room and the fact that is a small galley kitchen.

I had decided to go with paint grade custom cabinets and have chosen Volga Blue as my granite. I too, much like everyone else, am having a hard time deciding wall color to go with the Volga Blue. I think that I am going to paint the cabinets a crisp white but am open to any suggestions you may have. I have decided to use the granite as a running backsplash and paint the wall space between the granite backsplash and upper cabinets for now. I may go back and tile at a later date but due to budget and time I am painting for now.

Please can you make a suggestion as to whether you think the white cabinets will be ok with the Volga Blue and what color should I go with on the walls. My concern is whatever I paint in the kitchen needs to flow with whatever color I paint in the den and I am undecided and conflicted about either of these rooms. I have always leaned towards warm colors and the Volga Blue is a beautiful granite and I think that I will love it but it is a step out of the norm for me.
