Tom
We are finishing a kitchen remodel and have decided to use 3cm Wild West Green aka Verde Parahna for our countertops. The counters will have two overhang areas. To the right of the slide in range is a 27" base cabinet with drawers. The base and range are offset 3 inches from the back wall so the counter will be 28" deep. It will over hang the side of the 27" base by 12" for a total length of 39". We are planning to fasten 3 steel straps 3" wide x 36" long to the routed out sideds of the base cabinet. The cabinets are box construction frameless made with 3/4" plywood and dowel construction.

Should I use 3/8" or 1/4" thick steel straps?

Do you have any other ideas on how to support this without a corbel.

Many thanks for all your helpful information.

Hi Tom, We are remodeling our Florida Condo. We're starting with the kitchen. It's a rather small kitchen. We have white cabinets and we're planning on purchasing white appliances as well. Can you recommend a few granite colors that will work well. We want something that will be somewhat neutral so that we can easily get a floor tile that will work nicely with the countertops. Thank you in advance for your help!
