Removing Stone Enhancer
I just had my bathroom redone. I have travertine and natural riverbed stone. I had gotten two different kinds of sealer for the workers to use. One was a stone enhancer to be used in only a few places. The other was a matte finish to be used everywhere else. They put the stone enhancer over everything. I need to know if there is anyway to remove it from the stone I don’t want it on. – Margie
Hello Margie
Yes, to remove most stone enhancers you can use Acetone and a green scrub pad. This is the safest procedure. However, it does not work, let me know and I will find a more aggressive product for you to try.

Hi we just had our charcoal quartzite pool coping sealed with seal and enhance and I am sick about it. It is super dark and now all I see is grout and dark dark stone. Is there a way to restore the natural lighter color and finish? Thanks so much. Brenda

Saw your posting on the stone enhancer removal. Does the acetone really work? I need to remove Aqua Mix’s stone enhancer and sealer product and am told by the manufacturer that nothing removes it and restores the color to its original.
The floors ended up much darker than intended and I want to restore it to its original color. Help!!!

I recently installed antiqued UbaTuba granite tile countertops in my kitchen. The tile layer did not seal prior to grouting. He used Laticrete unsanded grout 1600 with Laticrete 1776 grout enhancer & while doing clean up smeared the grout over the entire tile surface which has darkened the tile. I have tried vinegar & am unable to lighten the tile back to it’s preinstalled color. What can I use to remove the enhancer & lighten the tile?

Thank you for the tips, dealing with different rocks every day it is very nice to find out new ways to clean it. We were using a lot of products from the shelf, however, I find that Acetone works best. Thank you for the useful information.
